Student Showcase Sign-Up Forms Due Monday
The Student Showcase is similar to a talent show, but less formal. All students are welcome to share with their schoolmates on the stage any performance or demonstration they wish to share. All material must be pre-approved and school appropriate. Please see the Sign Up Form for details.  The Showcase will be held on two mornings during the last week of school, June 12 and 13, with different age groups on each day. Due to limited seating available in the gym, this is a student-only event.   Deadline: Please turn in sign-up forms to your classroom teachers by Monday June 4th!

Social for 6-7-8 Graders
Attention all 6-7-8 graders! Just a little heads up that some fun is heading your way. On June 1st, during the last hour of school, you will be having a Summer’s-In-Sight Social. There will be music, munching and merriment for all to enjoy. Contact Margaret @503-544-7875 with any questions.  Please bring, by grade:

6th graders: Sweet Snacks
7th graders: Savory Snacks
8th graders: Beverages

Springwater Annual Jog-A-Thon a Success!
Thank you to everyone that participated in the Jog-A-Thon. The kids did a great job and we had lots of great helpers. Envelopes will come home with your student with the number of laps ran and a total amount owed. Please have all money returned to the office no later than Thursday, June 7. Thank you!

Two Free Events at Museum of the Oregon Territory

Wild Willamette History-Raptors, Saturday, June 2, 1:00 pm

Meet a live peregrine falcon, up-close, and learn about the role of avian predators in agriculture, aviation, and ecology in a free “Wild Willamette History” program for all ages at the Museum of the Oregon Territory. Presenter Kort Clayton, president of the Oregon Falconers Association, will be joined by two of his falcons, Spencer, a Barbary and Judah, a Peregrine. Program topics will include how to identify peregrine falcons on the wing, what makes them the fastest creatures on earth, and their struggle from near extinction back to healthy populations along the Willamette.

Clackamas County Historical Society GEO-Heritage Tour, Saturday, June 16, 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm

For a summer adventure that’s close to home, try the Clackamas County Historical Society’s 2012 GEO-Heritage Tour, with a kickoff event on Saturday, June 16th at the Museum of the Oregon Territory. Free geocaching orientation classes for all ages start at 1 pm and 2:30 pm, courtesy of GEOregon, a local club which has helped CCHS develop a tour of the County’s historic gems that is educational, exciting, and rewarding. Participants may gain their first “stamps” on the GEO-Heritage Tour passport by visiting the Museum of the Oregon Territory and/or the nearby Stevens Crawford Heritage House.
