Fundraising Goals are Critical PDF Print E-mail

As a public charter school, Springwater receives only 80% of the State funds available to other public schools. As a result, Springwater relies on fundraising efforts to help cover its basic operational costs such as rent, staff salaries, classroom supplies, etc. In these tight economic times, when State funds are being reduced each year at an unprecedented rate, Springwater is unable to remain open without the fundraising efforts of its families.

The purpose of the fundraising committee is to raise the amount of fundraising revenue budgeted for each year. The committee strongly relies on the participation of Springwater families in the planning as well as participation in all events.

 

 
2010/2011 Fundraising Events PDF Print E-mail

There will be two major fundraisers this year:  The Benefit Auction and The Jog-a-Thon, in addition to a few selected smaller fundraising/community events and offerings each month.  More details will be posted as the dates for each approach.

September

  • Springwater Store - order your class shirts, as well as jackets, bags, shirts, hats, etc.*
  • Lunch pouches- order reusable sandwich and snack pouches
  • Chinook Books- look for your order form (sample books will be available on request)

October  - Bingo night and spaghetti feed

November

  • Wreath sales
  • Springwater Store ordering available for holiday gifts*

December  - U-cut tree farm

January  - Dog wash

February  - Benefit Auction - the biggest fundraiser of the year!

March - Springwater Store - last ordering time for the year*

April - Jog a thon

May - Mother’s Day plant sale

Throughout the school year:

  • Thursday pizza/hot dog lunch days
  • Family eat out – each month a different restaurant will featured. Supporting these restaurants on the designated night will help raise money for the school, so invite your friends and neighbors!

Next Year:

  • October 2011 - Fall Festival.  This will be a new event for Springwater. The festival will include music and local vendors who follow environmentally friendly practices. More details to follow!

* The SW Store will take orders only three times during the year, so that orders can be placed in bulk

We are looking for new members interested in joining this vitally important committee – please talk to committee chair Alex Van Pelt if you would like to help, and plan to come to the upcoming meeting to find out more about the scheduled fundraising events this year.

Meeting:  Thursday, Sept 16th, 7pm

Upstairs conference room at Market Of Choice in West Linn

Participation in the fundraising committee is a wonderful way to meet new friends, participate in the support and promotion of your child(ren)’s school, and fulfill your volunteer obligation. New members are always welcome!
