Battle of the Books update February 21, 2013

A hearty and huge congratulations to the Purple Mockingjay team – they won the all-school 6-8 division this morning during morning meeting and will be going on to regionals next Saturday in Canby! Not only that, they will be arriving at regionals as an undefeated team! Wonderful job, ladies, and good luck in Canby! Well done to the runner’s up, Minecraft Mania, as well as to all the participants of the 6-8 division that worked so hard and gave up so much of their lunch times in order to represent. THANK YOU to all of you for your wonderful attitudes and spirit 🙂

In the 4-5 division, congratulations go to the Night Owls, who are confirmed for the school finals next Thursday after winning their battle today! Also winning was TDG Readers who will go on to battle again next Tuesday for the open slot in the finals – great job, everyone!

Next week’s schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, Feb. 26th:

TDG Readers vs. Crispy Bacon

Thursday, Feb. 28th – Division Finals during morning meeting:

Night Owls vs. winner of Tuesday’s battle

It was tremendous to see so many parents at the school today supporting their students for OBOB. A huge thank you to those who were able to help, to those who came to show support, and to the teachers who did a FABULOUS job this morning during the 6-8 final battle. It was awesome!

One note: as OBOB begins to wrap up, I would love to hear ideas and suggestions for next year’s tournament. We had a fantastic turn-out for our second year and would truly love to see this continue to grow at the school. You can email me (Beth Cummings) at biblioholicbeth@gmail.com – there are already ideas and plans being tossed around, so make your voices heard!

Until next time…
